To Everything There Is A Season

Turn! Turn! Turn! by Byrds

To everything There is a season - turn, turn, turn
And a time for every purpose under heaven

A time to be born, a time to die
A time to plant, a time to reap
A time to kill, a time to heal
A time to laugh, a time to weep

A time to build up, a time to break down
A time to dance, a time to mourn
A time to cast away stones
A time to gather stones together

A time of war, a time of peace
A time of love, a time of hate
A time you may embrace
A time to refrain from embracing

A time to gain, a time to lose
A time to rend, a time to sew
A time to love, a time to hate
A time of peace, I swear it's not too late!

To everything There is a season - turn, turn, turn
And a time for every purpose under heaven

Ganapati Bappa Morya

Ganapati Utsav, thats what is the talk of town for the last 10 days..
The festival to celebrate the birth of Lord Ganesh which continues for 10days.From the 'sthapana' of the idol to its 'visarjan'.
In this part of the country it is as important as Diwali.And like any of the festivities..everybody is part of it...

With everything, it also adds to the chaos in the city.
Blaring music on the mega walls of amplifiers which am sure must be audible in the heavens above.
Roads blocked with huge pandals, and the traffic being officially stopped.
Extra water being released from the catchment areas into the river for the immersion.(Thankfully the rains have been good this year)

One just feels the whole charm of the festival get lost somewhere because of all this, but then thats just one aspect to the whole festival.
The traditional ganapati music and the ganapati dance..:-) something that everyone loves.
Its a great feeling to dancing all night on the visarjan day, something which lets you forget all the pains of living in the city for the last 10 days....
With everyone echoing the chants of 'Ganapati Bappa Morya'...Its time for the Visarjan again.

May his blessings be with everyone.

IF- Rudyard Kipling

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or, being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or, being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise;

If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with triumph and disaster
And treat those two imposters just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with wornout tools;

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breath a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on";

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings - nor lose the common touch;
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run -
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man my son!
